Died: Jan­u­a­ry 10, 1923, Marl­bo­rough, Wilt­shire, Eng­land.

William, son of Will­iam Bam­bridge of Wind­sor, Berk­shire, and grand­son of George White Bam­bridge of Nor­wich, Nor­folk, moved to Eng­land at age six. By age 10, he was playing the or­gan at Clewer. He at­tend­ed Ox­ford (MusB 1872), and later moved to Marl­bo­rough and mar­ried Lou­i­sa Ma­ria Coombs, al­so a pro­fess­or of mu­sic, in Sep­tem­ber, 1885 (they had one son, al­so called Will­iam Sam­u­el, born 1889). Bambridge served as or­gan­ist and choirmaster at Marlborough Coll­ege (1864-1911).
