Bax at­tend­ed Slade and Hea­ther­ly Art Schools, and com­plet­ed his school­ing in Ger­ma­ny. He found­ed the Phoe­nix So­ci­e­ty (1919-1926) to re­vive Eliz­a­be­than and Res­tor­a­tion dra­mas. His works in­clude:
