As of 2005, Edwards was sen­ior pas­tor of Christ Lu­ther­an Church in Ma­ri­et­ta, Georg­ia. His hymns have ap­peared in hymn­als used by 30 de­nom­in­a­tions in Amer­i­ca, Ca­na­da, Ja­pan, Aus­tral­ia, and New Zea­land, as well as an­thems and CD’s in Eng­land, Scot­land, Swe­den, Ger­ma­ny and Amer­i­ca. He has co-writ­ten hymns with a va­ri­e­ty of writ­ers, in­clud­ing Dave Bru­beck, Pe­ter Ers­kine, Shir­ley Mur­ray, Su­sanne Bag­en­felt, Lin­da Ca­ble Shute, Hal Hop­son and Jen­ni Lee Boyd­en.
