Edgar at­tend­ed Ha­ver­gal Coll­ege, the Un­i­ver­si­ty of On­tar­io, and the Na­tion­al Train­ing School of the Young Wo­men's Christ­ian As­so­ci­a­tion in New York Ci­ty. From 1922 to 1956, she ran a girls’ camp called Glen Ber­nard, on Lake Ber­nard, near Sund­ridge. Her works in­clude:
