Died: Sep­tem­ber 27, 1899, Newburgh, New York, at his son’s home.

Buried: Bloomfield, New Jersey.

Ellor trained as a hat mak­er, but by age 18 was lead­ing the Wes­ley­an cha­pel choir. He lat­er be­gan work­ing for the rail­road be­ing built be­tween God­ley Junc­tion and Man­ches­ter. He em­i­grat­ed to Amer­i­ca in 1843 and re­sumed the hat mak­ing trade.
