Daughter of no­vel­ist Ben­ja­min Far­je­on, Elea­nor wrote po­ems, novels, plays, and child­ren’s books. She re­ceived the Re­gi­na Me­dal in 1959 for her work with child­ren. Her works in­clude:

• The Glass Slip­per, 1944
• The Little Book­room, 1955 (won the Car­ne­gie Me­dal and the Hans An­der­son In­ter­na­tion­al Me­dal)
