Sarah’s hus­band was Er­ick John Find­la­ter, Free Church of Scot­land pas­tor at Loch­ern­head, Perth­shire, Scot­land. In 1855, Sar­ah and her si­ster Jane Borth­wick co-pro­duced a book of trans­la­tions of German hymns ti­tled Hymns from the Land of Lu­ther.
