Buried: Gam­la kyrk­o­gär­den, Här­nö­sand, Swe­den.

Franzèn stu­died the­ol­o­gy in Tur­ku, Åbo Akad­e­mi (where he be­came Li­brar­i­an and Pro­fess­or of Lit­er­a­ry His­to­ry), and lat­er in Upp­sala, Swe­den. In 1810, he moved to Swe­den, where he pas­tored at Kum­la, Ore­bro, and San­ta Cla­ra, Stock­holm. In 1834, he be­came bi­shop of Härn­ö­sand. He al­so served as sec­re­tary of the Swed­ish Acad­emy, and pub­lished a hymn­al to­ge­ther with Johan Wall­in.
