Grubb at­tend­ed a Friends (Quak­er) school, Leeds Un­i­ver­si­ty, and the Un­i­ver­si­ty of Lon­don. He ed­it­ed The Bri­tish Friend (1901-13), and served as se­cre­ta­ry of the How­ard As­so­ci­a­tion. His works in­clude:
