Hannan was pas­tor of the Bush­wick Av­e­nue Cen­tral Meth­od­ist Epis­co­pal Church, Brook­lyn, New York, for eight years. As of 1923, he was pro­fess­or of pas­tor­al the­ol­o­gy at Drew The­o­lo­gic­al Sem­in­a­ry, Ma­di­son, New Jer­sey. His works in­clude:
