King grad­u­at­ed from Queen’s Coll­ege, Cam­bridge, and was or­dained in 1814. His first post was ev­i­dent­ly as Cur­ate of Well­ing­ton with Ey­ton, Shrop­shire; he be­came Per­pe­tu­al Cur­ate of Christ Church, Hull, in 1822. He lat­er served as Cur­ate to Mr. J. Ey­ton, of Well­ing­ton, Shrop­shire. His works in­clude:

• A Treatise on Con­science, 1838
• Memoir of the Rev­er­end Thomas Dykes, of Hull, 1849
