Lindsay en­rolled as a med­ic­al stu­dent at Hi­ram Coll­ege, Ohio (1897-1900), but did not com­plete his stu­dies. From 1901 to 1903, he stu­died art and wrote in Chi­ca­go, Il­li­nois. He event­u­al­ly moved in­to the writ­ing field, and be­came a suc­cess­ful po­et. His works in­clude:
