From 1914 to around 1920, Love­less toured Amer­i­ca with an en­ter­tain­ment group, where he re­ceived a ground­ing in voice and pi­a­no. He served as a Ma­rine Corps of­fi­cer in World War I, and was con­vert­ed as a re­sult of read­ing the Bi­ble at home. He di­rect­ed the ra­dio de­part­ment (WMBI) at Moody Bi­ble In­sti­tute, Ch­ica­go, Il­li­nois (1926-1947), and lat­er pas­tored at church­es in Wheat­on, Il­li­nois; Bo­ca Ra­ton, Flor­i­da; and Hon­o­lu­lu, Ha­waii, con­tin­u­ing his ra­dio min­is­try in the last two lo­ca­tions.
