Born: Ju­ly 9, 1799, Ex­e­ter, New Hamp­shire.

Died: May 28, 1847, Spring­field, Mass­a­chu­setts.

Oliver at­tend­ed Har­vard Un­i­ver­si­ty, and taught at an acad­e­my in Ex­e­ter, 1817-1818. He then stu­died the­ol­o­gy at the Cam­bridge Di­vin­i­ty School. He be­gan preaching in 1819, and be­came pas­tor of the Un­i­tar­i­an church in Spring­field, Mass­a­chu­setts, where he served the rest of his life. He had a twin brother, Oliver William Peabody, who was al­so a Un­i­tar­i­an min­is­ter (at Bur­ling­ton, Ver­mont), and al­so died in 1847.
