An Eng­lish pi­a­nist, once a pu­pil of Men­dels­sohn and of Stern­dale Ben­nett, Rock­stro was in­flu­en­tial in mu­sic­al ed­u­ca­tion and in mu­sic gen­er­al­ly. One of his most pop­u­lar songs was “Queen and Hunt­ress.” His works in­clude:

• Felix Men­dels­sohn Bar­thol­dy (Lon­don: 1884)
