Son of Dr. Will­iam Ed­ward Scott of Montréal, Can­a­da, Fred­er­ick was ed­u­cat­ed at Bi­shop’s Un­i­ver­si­ty, Len­nox­ville (BA 1881, MA 1884, DCL 1901, CMG 1916, DSO 1918). He was or­dained a dea­con in 1884, and priest two years lat­er. He served as as­sist­ant Cur­ate at St. John the Evan­gel­ist, Mont­ré­al (1884-6); at Cog­ges­hall, Es­sex (1886-7); Rec­tor at St. George’s, Drum­mond­ville, Québec (1887-96); Cur­ate at St. Mat­thew’s, Québec (1896-7), and Rec­tor (1899); Can­on of Qué­bec Ca­thed­ral (1906); Arch­dea­con of Qué­bec (1925-33); and TCF (1914-19).
