Son of Dr. William Edward Scott of Montréal, Canada, Frederick was educated at Bishop’s University, Lennoxville (BA 1881, MA 1884, DCL 1901, CMG 1916, DSO 1918). He was ordained a deacon in 1884, and priest two years later. He served as assistant Curate at St. John the Evangelist, Montréal (1884-6); at Coggeshall, Essex (1886-7); Rector at St. George’s, Drummondville, Québec (1887-96); Curate at St. Matthew’s, Québec (1896-7), and Rector (1899); Canon of Québec Cathedral (1906); Archdeacon of Québec (1925-33); and TCF (1914-19).
