Died: Jan­u­a­ry 12, 1730, Nie­der­wiese (near Greif­en­berg), Sch­lesien.

Son of a farm­er and rur­al ma­gis­trate, Schwed­ler en­rolled at the Un­i­ver­si­ty of Leip­zig in 1695 (MA 1697). In 1698, he was ap­point­ed as­sist­ant min­is­ter at Nie­der­wiese. He be­came di­a­co­nus in 1698, fol­low­ing the death of his pre­de­cess­or, Christ­oph Adolph; in 1701, he be­came the pas­tor there. He was a gift­ed preach­er, and found­ed an or­phan­age in Nie­der­wiese. He and Ni­ko­laus von Zin­zen­dorf lived near each other and were friends. Schwed­ler’s works in­clude:
