Sedding stu­died un­der ar­chi­tect G. E. Street, and built or re­stored sev­er­al churche­s in western Eng­land. He al­so played the or­gan at St. Ma­ry the Vir­gin, Crown Street, So­ho, and was Hon­o­ra­ry Pre­cen­tor at St. Ra­pha­el Homes in Bris­tol. He is known as the ed­it­or of sev­er­al car­ol col­lect­ions, and as com­pos­er of mu­sic­al set­tings for some of John Neale’s trans­la­tions from the Greek.
