Mary lived with her crip­pled grand­mo­ther for 18 years, and lat­er took care of her mo­ther, then her fa­ther, un­til he died. It is said that Fan­ny Cros­by was Ma­ry’s in­spir­a­tion to write Gos­pel songs.
