Died: Feb­ru­a­ry 11, 1888, Ren­frew-on-the-Clyde, Scot­land.

Small at­tend­ed the Un­i­ver­si­ty of Ed­in­burgh, stu­died di­vin­i­ty und­er Dr. Chalmers, and in 1834 joined the Free Church of Scot­land. In 1847 he be­came min­is­ter of the Free Church at Ber­vie, near Mont­rose. His works in­clude:
