Emily was the daughter of Samuel Taylor or New Buckenham,
Norfolk, niece of hymnist John Taylor of Norwich, and great-granddaughter
of Hebraist Dr. John Taylor. She wrote numerous children’s
stories, mainly historical, and various works of
instruction and descriptive natural history, and
contributed to Magnet Stories (1860, etc.) and Rainbow
Stories (1870, etc.). Her works include:
